Jeffrey Barton, DPM, MS, FACFAS
Dr. Barton obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH in 1982. He went on to earn a Master of Science Degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Delaware in 1987. He graduated with honors from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH in 1995.
Dr. Barton is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow in the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He is the past president of the Delaware State Board of Podiatry and past chairman of the Department of Surgery-Kent General Hospital Bayhealth Medical Center. Currently, he is a member of the Medical Executive Committee of the Delaware Surgery Center. Dr Barton has been voted “Top Doc” in Delaware Today magazine multiple times. Dr. Barton is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association as well as the Delaware Podiatric Medical Association. He is the team Podiatrist for Delaware State University Athletics and has volunteered at the Hope Medical Clinic. Dr. Barton is a supporter of the YMCA, The Food Bank of Delaware, and Caesar Rodney School District.
Originally from NH, Dr. Barton moved to Delaware from Cleveland, OH in 1997. After working as an Associate at Dover Podiatry for two years, he established the Kent Foot & Ankle Center in 1999. The Kent Foot & Ankle Center became one of the most successful and trusted medical practices in Central Delaware, and Dr. Barton became one of the most well-known and respected foot and ankle surgeons in the area. In 2021, Dr. Barton decided to close one chapter of his professional life and begin another. Dr. Barton is now an Associate with Surgical Associates, P.A.
Dr. Barton and his wife of 40 years reside in Wyoming and have raised four children who all graduated from Caesar Rodney High School. Dr. Barton is an avid runner and enjoys playing tennis and golf. He enjoys fishing with his sons and biking on the local trails with his wife.
